Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte explores the vital contributions of Jewish women artists, designers, patrons, and tastemakers to the Wiener Werkstätte and the development of modernist design. Featuring more than 200 works by around 30 artists, the exhibition highlights figures including Vally Wieselthier and Felice Rix-Ueno while introducing lesser-known practitioners. Drawing on recent scholarship, it is the first exhibition to focus on the Jewish women whose creativity and influence helped shape the movement’s distinctive aesthetic.
