Exhibition Overview
About the exhibition
The Ark brings together 90 sculptures and installations by contemporary artists, all centred on animals as symbols of connection, vulnerability and resilience. Presented at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, the exhibition explores environmental change, urban ecosystems and the relationship between human and nonhuman life through works ranging from intimate encounters to monumental forms. Inspired by the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, it considers themes of care, coexistence and survival, while celebrating the diversity of artistic materials, techniques and approaches to sculpture.
