Japanese Women Photographers

Japanese Women Photographers brings together the work of 27 artists from the 1950s to the present, offering a fresh perspective on the history of Japanese photography. Featuring more than 200 photographs, videos, installations and rare photobooks, the exhibition explores themes including identity, fashion, popular culture and everyday life. Showcasing both internationally recognised figures and overlooked practitioners, it highlights the vital role women have played in documenting social change and reshaping photography across generations.
