Allison Katz

Outta the Bag is Allison Katz’s first solo exhibition with the gallery in New York, bringing together new paintings that explore perception, memory and the act of looking. Combining personal references with art-historical imagery, wordplay and recurring motifs, Katz creates layered compositions that move between humour and reflection. Drawing on photographs, family histories and everyday encounters, the exhibition highlights painting’s capacity to hold multiple meanings and experiences within a single image, while questioning how images are framed, consumed and understood.
