Alfred Freddy Krupa made this cat with ink on paper. It's all stark black marks on bright white. Imagine the artist with their brush, hovering and diving, figuring out where to place each stroke. The image emerges like a blurry memory. I love how simple it is, just a few dabs and flicks, yet it totally captures the essence of a cat. The tail stands straight up, curious and alert! The ink is thin, almost watery, making it feel immediate and a bit fragile. The light touch reminds me of Japanese calligraphy or sumi-e painting, where every stroke counts. You can see the artist experimenting, trying to catch the cat’s spirit with quick, sure gestures. It makes me think about how we see and how much can be said with so little. Each artist learns from those who came before and speaks to those who will follow. Painting is such an act of embodied expression. It's so open to interpretation, and that’s what keeps it alive.
