Editor: This untitled print is by Kim Lim, a Singaporean sculptor and printmaker, although the date is unknown. The tiny square in the center almost disappears into the vast white space of the paper, creating this strange sense of both intensity and emptiness. What do you make of it? Curator: Ah, yes, I find it intensely meditative, almost like a visual haiku. The clustered lines, like wind-swept reeds, vibrate against the silent void. Do you feel the tension between the micro and macro worlds it evokes? Editor: I do now! It's incredible how such a small element can command so much space. Curator: Exactly! The negative space isn't just empty, it's charged, alive. It’s a reminder that simplicity can be profoundly powerful. Editor: I never thought of negative space that way before. Thanks!
