Editor: This is a silver salver of unknown date by Richard Beale, currently held at the Harvard Art Museums. It strikes me as elegantly understated, a sort of quiet luxury. What's your take on it? Curator: Quiet luxury, indeed. I imagine it catching the light, reflecting faces, holding stories. The salver is more than a tray; it's a stage. Someone placed their precious objects on it, day in and day out. What tales would it tell if it could speak? Editor: That’s a lovely thought. Curator: And maybe, in a way, it does speak. Doesn't art always? Editor: I never thought of it like that. Thank you! Curator: My pleasure. Now, go forth and find more stories in silver and beyond!
