Editor: So this photograph, "Strike" by Scherschel, shows what looks like a protest in front of a huge factory. There's almost a ghostly feeling to it with all that smoke or fog. What grabs you when you look at this? Curator: That ghostly feeling is palpable, isn't it? For me, it's the stark contrast between the looming industrial architecture and the vulnerability of the figures braving the tear gas. It makes me wonder about the personal stories caught in that moment. What were their hopes, their fears? Were they heard? Editor: That's a great point!
