Rune Jansson made this painting on canvas with a flurry of ochre, yellow, and blue strokes, like a dance of color. Imagine Jansson standing before the canvas, brush in hand, thinking, "Så kan det bli"—"That's how it can be." What a great attitude! It looks like the painting emerged through layers of action, the colors building up, fighting, and harmonizing. The ochre feels like the ground, but then the yellow cuts through, those little blue moments adding zing. There's a dark vertical line like a tree trunk, anchoring everything. I wonder what Jansson was looking at, or thinking about, when they made this? It makes me think of other painters, maybe someone like Per Kirkeby, who also wrestled with landscape and abstraction. Artists are always talking to each other, you know, across time and space. Each painting is an offering, an experiment, and never the final word. It's a physical record of a journey, full of uncertainties and possibilities.
