John Dana made this drawing of a tumbler with graphite and colored pencil on paper. It's pretty amazing, right? I mean, you look at it, and it's just a glass. But think about the artist, carefully observing and recording all those little details. The light catching on the glass, the way the lines curve to suggest its roundness, and the slight imperfections of the surface. It’s a simple subject, yet it feels kind of profound. We all have glasses at home. And yet, how often do we really *see* them? Dana made me think about how everyday objects contain a unique kind of beauty. It's like he's saying, "Hey, look at this. Isn't it cool?" And yeah, it kinda is. It makes you wonder what other forgotten treasures are hiding in plain sight.
