Rudolf Láng created this print of a Knight's Castle, and honestly, the image feels like it emerged through mist and memory. I'm imagining Láng working on the plate, the acid biting into the metal, each mark a deliberate act, but also a kind of surrender. Look at the texture of the knight's armor, the castle walls, and the way the light seems to glow from within. The whole thing is like a dreamscape rendered in shades of...is that blood? Or rust? I can almost feel the weight of the knight's sword, the tension in his stance, the weight of history bearing down. There's something about the rawness of the printmaking process – the grit, the grain, the imperfections – that feels so connected to the human experience. Like Láng is showing us that beauty doesn’t have to be perfect, it can be found in the struggle, in the act of making itself. It makes me think of Goya's etchings, the way he used aquatint to create these murky, atmospheric scenes. It’s like they’re all in conversation, across time and space, about what it means to be human.
