Editor: So this is an architectural model of the Gropius Residence in Lincoln, Massachusetts, circa 1938. It was designed by Paul Davis. It has such a simple, austere beauty. What speaks to you most when you look at it? Curator: The light, definitely the light. How it slices across the planar surfaces, almost creating a tangible geometry. It makes me wonder, what's it like to live inside this play of shadow and sun? Does that make sense? Editor: Absolutely. It’s like the house itself is a sundial. Do you think the sharp angles are welcoming? Curator: Welcoming? Perhaps not in the conventional sense. But isn’t there a certain allure in that very austerity? Maybe it's not about open arms, but open minds. Editor: I never considered that, but it makes me want to visit. Curator: Me too. Art is always a journey.
