This page of decorative patterns, was made by Reijer Stolk, we don't know when, with what looks like a pencil. It's all about the touch, you know? The way Stolk lets the pencil wander, not trying to be perfect. The lines are scratchy, like he's thinking out loud. Up top, there's a tight grid, but then these wild lines cut through, like nature crashing a geometry party. And below, those blobby shapes, filled with shaky hatching. It's like he's saying, "Here's a pattern, but let's mess it up a little." I get reminded of Hilma af Klint, the way she mixed hard lines with flowy forms. Art's just a big conversation, right? Stolk’s page feels like a sweet invitation to loosen up and see the beauty in imperfection.
