Editor: Well, the "praying" posture makes me think of respect and a sort of quiet observation of the world. The mantis is almost like a little monk, contemplating the universe on a leaf! Curator: Precisely! And consider how Koson places it amongst the flora. This isn’t merely a botanical study. The delicate lines, the muted colors... they evoke a sense of transience and the interconnectedness of all living things.
