Takis made *Luminous Signs* using industrial materials, in a way that’s all about energy and movement. The whole piece is like a dark canvas for invisible forces. It feels kind of alchemical, right? Look at how the thin wires stretch out from the center. They connect to these circular weights along the edges, creating a web of tension. The needles clustered in the middle, like they're sparking outwards, desperate to escape the dark void. Everything feels precisely balanced, but also like it could fall apart at any moment. I think it is a work about hidden systems, physical and maybe even spiritual ones. This reminds me a little of Eva Hesse’s sculptures, where she used latex and rope to explore fragility and impermanence. And maybe some Calder too, these artists saw the poetics of balance in a way that felt totally new. Ultimately it's not about what it looks like, but how it makes you feel, like you've glimpsed something secret.
