Monet made Palazzo Dario 3 with oil on canvas using a divided brushstroke, all soft blues and pinks, like candy. Look at that gondola! It's just sitting there, suspended in the water, which seems like thick green glass. I wonder if Monet was thinking about the reflections, the way the building seems to melt into the water. What's so cool about the Palazzo is that it's not really THERE, you know? It's like a shimmer, a dream. I love how Monet's always chasing the light. It reminds me of when I’m in the studio and trying to capture something fleeting. You keep trying, you keep searching, and the painting shifts with each layer. I guess we're all just trying to catch those elusive feelings and put them on canvas. Painting is a conversation, across time. It’s always inspiring.
