Giorgia Valli made this image, AA AEIA IUE, using what looks like photography and digital tools. You know, the real beauty of art lies in its making, that process of thinking, experimenting, failing, and trying again. The cool hues in this photograph evoke a sense of serenity, but there's also something melancholic about it. The texture, or the illusion of texture, plays a huge role here. It's all very smooth and subtle. Notice how the edges soften, like a fading memory. If you look closely, you can see the way the shadows play around the parrot, creating an atmosphere of depth. It’s as though Valli is constructing her own world, one layer at a time. Valli’s work reminds me a little of Gerhard Richter’s blurred paintings, where the focus is less on the subject matter and more on the act of seeing itself.
