This is a letter to Philip Zilcken, written by Marianne von der Launitz, in what looks like blue fountain pen on light blue paper. It’s the kind of everyday object that becomes art through its very existence. I love the casualness of the handwriting, how the ink pools in certain spots, giving the letters a sense of depth. It makes me think about the physical act of writing, the pressure of the pen on paper, the way the hand moves across the page. You can see the artist's thought process and intention in every stroke. The letter is composed of gentle loops and lines that feel almost calligraphic. The whole thing reminds me of the work of Cy Twombly, in the way that it embraces the messiness of the artistic process. It's a reminder that art doesn't always have to be polished or perfect. Sometimes the most beautiful things are those that are raw, honest, and full of imperfections. It's a really evocative piece.
