Editor: Hilda Katz's print, "Spinning Top," well, it’s just so bizarre! The black and white contrast is really stark, and it feels almost dreamlike. What do you make of it? Curator: Dreamlike is a good word! It feels like a memory, distorted and simplified. The spinning top, the little figures, the odd architecture – perhaps symbols of childhood games seen through an adult lens, a touch melancholy, no? I wonder, does it remind you of anything? Editor: A little like a fever dream. So you think it's autobiographical? Curator: Perhaps, but it’s also universal. Think about how fleeting childhood is! The spinning top wobbles, then falls...like time itself, always moving, always changing. Editor: Wow, I hadn't considered that! Suddenly, it feels much more profound. Curator: Isn't it amazing how a simple image can hold so much? I see something new every time. Editor: Me too. Thanks!
