John Wilkes made this fractur drawing sometime in the 17th century, and you can see his hand so clearly in the work, every little detail feels like a meditation. Look at how he's built up these twin floral arrangements, one in a basket, the other in a vase. The colors are so flat, so deliberate, as if each bloom and leaf were placed with a specific intention. There's a real sense of care in the application. It's amazing to me how the words below each composition feel like another part of the picture. Each stroke, each line, is a testament to the act of creation itself. And it makes me think of Hilma af Klint, with the same attention to symbolic color and form. Art is just one big, long conversation, isn't it? It's not about answers, it's about questions.
