Editor: Here we have George Musgrave’s, Sketch in the Style of Vanderneer, held at the Tate. It’s a small, moody piece. What is your interpretation of it? Curator: It feels like a dreamscape, doesn’t it? The sepia tones evoke a sense of nostalgia, a longing for a past we never knew. Perhaps Musgrave was chasing Vanderneer's ghost, trying to capture that same melancholic beauty. Did he succeed? Editor: I'm not sure, but it is evocative. Curator: Ultimately, it’s about the feeling it stirs in you. For me, it's a quiet contemplation of time and memory. What about you? Editor: I see what you mean. It definitely stays with you.
