This sheet was created by Paul Ranson, and its monochromatic aesthetic immediately draws us into a world where the organic meets the symbolic. A seated woman with long hair dominates the left side of the image, framed by a tree and a fantastical creature, possibly a troll. Ranson masterfully employs sinuous lines and shapes to construct a scene that is simultaneously representational and deeply stylized.
