This is P. Heerens’ silver and green glass brooch. It's a small, intimate object, a world in miniature. It reminds me of a painter starting with a base tone and then building up the image, layer by layer. Look at the way the silver swirls around the glass, each curve and indentation carefully shaped. It’s almost like the silver is alive, reaching out to embrace the stone. I love the texture of the silver, the way it catches the light, it feels like the material has a memory, a history of being worked and shaped. The green glass at the heart of the brooch is a deep, swirling pool, like a forest reflected in a still pond. The brooch feels like a talisman, something that holds a secret, a whisper of something ancient and unknown. It reminds me of the work of Frida Kahlo, she too knew how to infuse everyday objects with a deep, personal meaning. It's a conversation across time, a way of seeing and feeling the world that transcends the individual artist.
