Editor: So, this is William Trost Richards' Seascape, a small ink drawing. It feels so immediate, like a quick thought jotted down. What do you make of it? Curator: It's as if Richards captured a fleeting feeling, a moody day by the sea. The frenetic lines almost vibrate, don't they? I imagine Richards standing on the shore, wind whipping around him, just trying to grasp the raw energy of the scene. What does it evoke for you? Editor: Restlessness, maybe? Like the ocean is always moving, always changing. Curator: Precisely! And perhaps, isn't that a reflection of our own inner landscapes too? Fleeting, restless, ever-changing. Editor: It's amazing how much emotion he conveys with so few lines. I’ll never look at a simple sketch the same way again. Curator: Me neither. Every line sings a song now.
