This letter was written by Antoine Lumière to Philip Zilcken in 1906 with pen on paper. It's like a dance, isn't it? The way Lumière's handwriting twirls across the page. You can almost see him, bent over his desk, the pen scratching as he tries to capture his thoughts. I wonder what was going through his mind as he formed each word? Was he excited, worried, contemplative? You know, the thing about handwriting is that it's so intimate—it's like a little piece of the artist's soul left on the page. Each stroke carries weight, a feeling, a secret. It reminds me of Cy Twombly, in a way. The same sense of gesture, the same effort to record a moment. A kind of intimacy that transcends language. It’s as if they’re whispering to us across time, inviting us to join in their train of thought. Just beautiful, isn't it?
