This sepia toned photograph, *Vrouw bij de Abdij van La-Chaise-Dieu* by Delizy, shows a woman standing in a courtyard of an old abbey. You can almost feel the sun on her skin. The tones are consistent throughout the artwork, and you can imagine Delizy playing with the depth of field to bring the viewer's attention to the woman in the centre. This image feels like the work of a master printer. I know what it is like to work on a single print for days, experimenting with different hues, shades, and tones until it comes together as a finished piece. That small figure standing in the courtyard, what do you think she is thinking? It feels like a liminal moment. Photographers and painters are always in conversation with one another, aren't they?
