This sketch of figures, made with pencil on paper by Bramine Hubrecht, has an immediacy that I really appreciate. It's all about the process here, isn't it? Look at the lightness of the marks, the way she suggests forms with just a few lines. There’s a real sense of Hubrecht working things out, figuring out how to capture the essence of her subject. I love the arm in the lower right corner, how the lines curve and flow, defining the shape without being overly precise. It's like she's feeling her way through the drawing, trusting her intuition to guide her. The understated nature reminds me of drawings by Klimt, where the bare minimum of lines is used to create something sensual and evocative. It’s in this ambiguity that art thrives, inviting us to bring our own interpretations and experiences to the work.
