Naples

Curatorial notes
Editor: We're looking at "Naples" by Robert David Gauley, a watercolor landscape. It’s wonderfully dreamy; all pastel blues and greens, like a half-remembered vacation. What's your take on it? Curator: It does have that hazy, nostalgic quality. For me, the washes of color evoke a sense of atmosphere, of light shimmering on the land. See how the mountain almost blends into the sky? It suggests a kind of timelessness, doesn't it? Editor: Definitely. It makes me think about how landscapes stay the same, yet are always changing. Thanks for that insight. Curator: My pleasure, it's a lovely little watercolor, isn’t it?
