This delicate lace trim with its symmetrical volute pattern was made by Leon Sacré. You can see it's a real tour-de-force of skill and patience. I can imagine Sacré sitting, maybe in a room filled with soft light, carefully winding and knotting those threads to create this intricate design. Each twist and turn of the thread, a tiny gesture, building up this gorgeous pattern. There's a rhythm to it, a dance between precision and flow. Look at the way the light catches the different textures, how some areas are denser, more solid, while others are open and airy. It reminds me of drawing with a very fine pen, building up layers of marks to create depth and form. There’s a conversation happening here, a dialogue between the maker and the material, each influencing the other. And in the end, we get this beautiful object, a testament to human creativity and skill, speaking to us across time.
