This is Carles Delclaux Is’s 'Laberint clos', and it feels like a painting built from scavenged moments, like catching glimpses of buildings through scaffolding. There's a real sense of artmaking as a process, of something unfolding, a journey that’s not entirely mapped out. The surface has this beautiful, almost raw quality. The blocks of mustard yellow and off-white feel like they've been scrubbed onto the canvas. The black lines, like architectural afterthoughts, create a grid that’s both stable and unstable. Look closely at the top right corner, the way the orange bleeds into the red border, that small imperfection brings the whole thing to life. It’s the kind of detail that makes you feel like you're seeing the artist's hand at work. It puts me in mind of the late work of Mondrian, but dirtier, or maybe Forrest Bess. It's like a secret language, one that invites you to get lost in its textures and colours and maybe find something new in the process.
