Will Insley created this drawing, *Passage Space Drift, Section 2*, on board. The composition is neatly bisected into zones through the use of line. Notice the upper field of subtly gradiated shading, executed with diagonal strokes, which creates a sense of depth. This contrasts with the parallel lines that constitute the lower section, giving it a flatter aspect. Between these two fields lies what appears to be a structure. Insley plays with architectural representation to explore interior and exterior space. His architectural renderings are not so much depictions of existing places as they are philosophical inquiries into the nature of space itself. He destabilizes conventional perspective, challenging our assumptions about spatial relationships. Consider how the stark lines and absence of detail invites contemplation on fundamental aspects of architectural form and spatial experience. The drawing functions as both an aesthetic object and a conceptual diagram, opening questions about how we perceive and interact with constructed environments. It reflects on the very act of seeing and interpreting the world around us.
