This utilitarian object, a small metal spoon, was made by the Stichting Diamantbewerkers Koperen Stelen Fonds. Looking at the spoon, I'm wondering what it would have been like to create. The bowl has a tarnished silver finish, and the handle has a bronze color with a square point at the very end. I'm imagining that the bronze part would be very warm to the touch, and the grey silver head would be cold and smooth. Did the creator have a need for this spoon, or was it more ornamental? It reminds me of how artists are always in conversation, even across time. One inspires another, an ongoing exchange of ideas. Painting, like this spoon, is embodied expression. It embraces ambiguity and uncertainty, allowing multiple interpretations and meanings.
