György Kepes made this black and white photograph called 'The New Landscape in Art and Science', and wow, it's like seeing something totally alien, yet familiar. Kepes lets light become the protagonist. The image is full of texture, but it’s the texture of light itself: lines of light cascade down, almost solid, before dissolving into dots that feel both digital and organic. The high contrast creates a stark, almost graphic feel. The way these lines converge and then break apart reminds me of a similar tension in the work of László Moholy-Nagy, where forms are always on the verge of either solidifying or dissolving back into pure energy. Both artists treat the act of seeing as a form of experimentation, constantly asking us to reconsider the very fabric of our visual reality. And like all good art, it doesn't give you answers; it just keeps the conversation going.
