Editor: This is a print of "Duke Pasquier(?)," by Achille Louis Martinet. It feels very formal, almost staged, like a monument to power. What do you make of it? Curator: The weightiness, right? It's interesting how Martinet uses shadow to convey authority, but also vulnerability. Look at the hand resting on the urn – almost tentative. Does that change your impression at all? Editor: It does. It adds a layer of humanity to what felt purely performative. I hadn't noticed that detail. Curator: It’s those subtle details that invite us to question the narratives we impose. I appreciate it for that reason.
