Curator: Veith's "Landscape" shows us a ruin overtaken by nature; it gives off a melancholic beauty. Editor: The crumbling masonry is captivating. What material was used, and what does the state of decay say about labor and time? Curator: It's about power, isn't it? The power structures that built these empires, now softened by nature and time. It reframes the narrative. Editor: Exactly. Who quarried the stone? Who laid each brick? These ruins whisper stories of the exploited, of material and human cost. Curator: It speaks to our current climate crisis, nature reclaiming spaces impacted by capitalist excess, but also, there is beauty in what survives, yes? Editor: There is. It makes one wonder how these remains will be impacted by what humans continue to do. Thank you for sharing. Curator: My pleasure.
