This untitled work was made by Constantin Blendea at an unknown date. At first glance, the array of shapes and colors might seem purely abstract, but the more you look, the more you start to appreciate the artist’s hand. The rough texture and visible brushstrokes show that Blendea wasn’t trying to hide the process. The material here isn’t just paint, it’s a record of labor. You can almost feel the repetitive motion of the brush, building up the image layer by layer. The texture of the brushstrokes, their weight, and the way they reflect the light, all contribute to the overall effect. Blendea's work challenges the traditional divide between fine art and craft.
