Here are several strips of film by Robert Frank, printed on a sheet, and fixed to black paper. I’m really drawn to these selections of photographs, because they are so immediate, so raw, so personal. When I look at these frames, I imagine Frank in Peru, trying to capture something essential, something real about the place and its people. There's a sense of experimentation here, a willingness to try different angles and perspectives. I wonder what it must have been like for him, walking around with his camera, looking for the right moment, the perfect composition. The photographs feel spontaneous, as though he's capturing life as it unfolds around him. Frank’s work reminds me of other artists, photographers, and painters who aren't afraid to take risks and push boundaries. It’s like he’s in a constant dialogue with the world and with other artists, responding to what he sees and feels, and creating something new and original. It’s all about the exchange of ideas across time.
