Alfred Freddy Krupa’s work, made with ink on paper, presents us with an ethereal being encircled by striking symbolic elements. Notice the prominent halo-like structure, immediately evoking associations with sacred figures across various cultures. Traditionally, halos signify divine aura and spiritual enlightenment. Yet, look closer, and you'll see how this halo is rendered—not as a solid, serene form, but as an organic and almost fragmented shape. This recalls the ancient motif of the Ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail, symbolizing cyclicality and the eternal return. The image is charged with emotional tension, with the gaze of the figure conveying a sense of otherworldly introspection. This composition evokes a sense of the figure's powerful force of transcendence, yet also of being bound to the cyclical nature of existence. The symbols and their recurrence reflect the continuous rebirth and transformation embedded in our collective unconscious, a theme that resurfaces throughout history, evolving in form but retaining its profound psychological impact.
