Curator: "5. Strong Motion" by Colin Lanceley... It feels like a playful dance, doesn't it? All these floating shapes and figures. Editor: The composition certainly commands attention. Notice how Lanceley disperses the imagery across the picture plane, creating a non-hierarchical field. Curator: And the textures! A photograph of a child, geometric blocks, and then these machine-like drawings... I wonder what "strong motion" meant to Lanceley? Maybe memories colliding? Editor: Semiotically, the collage technique disrupts any singular narrative. Each element functions as a signifier, prompting viewers to construct their own interpretations. Curator: It makes me think of those childhood games, where you build impossible contraptions from bits and bobs... Delightful! Editor: Indeed. A potent example of collage as both deconstruction and reimagining of form.
