Christian Holm created this print, “Hestevæddeløb”, using etching techniques, resulting in a dynamic composition. The scene is dominated by two horses racing, their forms rendered with a flurry of etched lines that convey a sense of movement and speed. Holm’s use of line is particularly striking. Notice how dense, cross-hatched lines create darker areas, suggesting depth and volume, while lighter, more sparse lines define the forms of the horses and riders.
