Next Morning 1958

Alice Rahon’s ‘Next Morning’ is an oil on canvas artwork, and feels like peering into a dream. The paint is applied in thin layers, creating this luminous, watery atmosphere, where everything seems to float and shimmer. Look at the way the blues and greens blend, almost like watercolour, and how the forms of buildings and trees emerge from this misty space.
