Curator: Immediately, I see a kind of ordered chaos, like a swarm forming a geometric shape. It's unsettling, yet strangely beautiful. Editor: That's a perfect way to describe "Crossing" by León Ferrari, a work held here at the Tate. The artwork's dimensions are roughly a meter squared. The piece is filled with repetitive symbols, seemingly airplanes in formation or perhaps birds on the wing. Curator: Airplanes... yes, there's definitely a sense of movement, a relentless, almost militaristic feeling. I keep thinking of flocks of birds or perhaps even some kind of technological plague. Editor: Ferrari's work often engages with themes of power, oppression, and societal control. The repetition and density of the image create a feeling of being overwhelmed by an unseen force, don't you think? Curator: Absolutely, the individual elements seem almost insignificant, but together they form a powerful, almost suffocating presence. It is, if I may say so, a little disturbing. Editor: It's a work that continues to reveal new layers with each viewing. I never fail to discover a new dimension, feeling, and possibility within its matrix.
