This delicate porcelain figure, standing at seven and a half inches, was crafted at the Fulda Pottery and Porcelain Manufactory. The figurine captures a woman adorned in the attire of a gardener, complete with a hat, and carrying a basket brimming with fruits or vegetables. The figure's graceful stance and flowing gown create a sense of movement. The eye is drawn from the base of the figurine, following the gentle curves of her dress, up to the tilt of her head and the placement of her arm, which creates a dynamic interplay between the figure and the surrounding space. This reflects the Rococo era's emphasis on asymmetry and dynamism. The meticulous detail in the floral decorations and the texture of her garments highlight the era's appreciation for intricate craftsmanship. The figurine captures the aesthetic values and social ideals of its time, where art and nature were intertwined in decorative and symbolic ways.
