Arkhyp Kuindzhi painted this landscape, titled "Rainbow," sometime during the late 19th century in Russia. Born to a poor shoemaker's family, Kuindzhi experienced firsthand the societal disparities within Imperial Russia, yet he rose to become one of the most celebrated landscape painters of his time.
