This vase with the ‘Tweeling’ pattern was made by N.V. Plateelbakkerij Ram. I can imagine the artist carefully applying each stroke of the brush, building up the pattern. The blues, purples, yellows, and greens all merge together across the surface of the vase. The white background peeks through, giving the piece a sense of lightness and airiness. The dark outlines give definition to the image, making each colour stand out. It’s interesting how the shape of the vase is quite traditional, yet the pattern feels so modern. The whole thing feels like it's alive and growing right in front of your eyes. It reminds me of Miro's automatic drawings, each gesture a playful experiment, where each color seems to dance across the surface. Like all the best art, this vase feels like an invitation to see the world in a new way, full of possibilities.
