This piece, *Deux vases de fleurs*, by Marc Chagall, is a party of color and layered visions. Chagall is all about the feel, and he uses paint like he’s telling you a story that keeps changing as he goes along. Look how the thick daubs of paint in the flowers almost pop right out. It's like he built those blooms with little colorful bricks, each one a slightly different shade. The vases themselves seem to hum with blues and greens, all juicy and alive. You can practically feel the textures: the rough canvas, the slick paint, the delicate lines of the floating figures. Each element adds to the dreamlike quality of the painting. There's a little couple snuggled at the bottom, like they’re part of the bouquet themselves, maybe a nod to Matisse’s intimate scenes? It all swirls together, making you wonder what’s real and what’s just floating in the air. And isn’t that what art’s all about anyway?
