There’s something about these almost ghostly images of industrial development that feels… bittersweet. What captures your attention when you look at these? Curator: Bittersweet is a perfect word. These aren't just documents; they're almost elegies for a landscape in transition. Look at the way the light catches the rough-hewn stone and the delicate textures of the trees in the background – it's a negotiation between the natural and the man-made. Do you see how the photographer positions us, the viewers, almost as witnesses to this act of transformation? I can't help but wonder, what was lost, and what was gained? Editor: I hadn’t thought of it as an elegy, more of just… a record. But I see what you mean. The people in the photo seem so small against the scale of the construction.
