This photo of the Dorpskerk in Poortugaal, was made with a camera at some point in the past. It's not super crisp, which makes me think about artmaking as a process. It's not always about getting it perfect, right? I love how the tones create a somber mood. The photo almost looks like a drawing due to the limited range of tones. But that is what is so beautiful about it. The way the light hits the church makes it seem like a drawing. The photo has a timeless quality, like it could have been taken any time in the last hundred years. It reminds me of some of Agnes Martin's subdued palettes. It feels like art should embrace ambiguity. There is no right answer.
