This is Pablo Picasso’s 'Portrait of Olga,' made with ink on paper. A delicate portrait formed of undulating lines. I can imagine Picasso, poised with his pen, carefully mapping Olga's features, one line at a time. Look at the way he captures the soft waves of her hair, each curve and curl a deliberate stroke. There’s an economy to it, isn’t there? A sense of knowing exactly where to place each line to suggest form and shadow. It’s like he's not just drawing what he sees, but also what he feels. Picasso would have worked through a number of styles and approaches throughout his career. It’s so interesting to see how artists, like Picasso, respond to each other's work. There’s this ongoing conversation happening across time. We all inspire each other. Each artwork is an experiment, and open to interpretation. It can be appreciated in so many different ways.
