Giorgio Morandi built this still life painting out of oil on canvas, and you can feel the artist’s concentration, searching for a sense of balance and stillness. I imagine him in his studio, looking at these simple bottles and boxes, trying to capture something essential about them. He must have thought a lot about colour. Look how he uses soft, muted tones, like greys, browns, and creams. He lays the paint on thinly, almost like a wash, creating a hazy, dreamlike effect. There's a gentle, soft glow of light in the work. What I love about Morandi is how he turns everyday objects into something meditative. The tabletop almost seems to blend into the background, making the objects float in space. There is such care in how they all sit together. It reminds me of how Chardin, another painter I adore, could make humble objects glow with beauty. For both of them, painting isn't just about representation; it's about really looking and trying to understand the essence of things.
